Born in Scotland, Bréon Rydell is an Olivier Award nominated producer, poet and composer.

In 2019, he was appointed Visiting Fellow and First Expert in Residence at the Center for American Studies, Heidelberg University, Germany, where he created and taught a new inter-disciplinary course The American Dream in the 21st Century — Where Are We Now.

He has always sought to highlight the suffering of others using his work to bring compassion and empathy, and most importantly, to create a powerful, positive narrative — to fight for justice and to help uplift the human spirit.

As a writer, his work has taken him across the globe. His love of life and the upholding of human rights, has drawn him to write about conflict and war, such as the troubles in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and the present war in Ukraine — he is deeply committed to defending democracy, advancing consciousness, education, and protecting the natural world.
